Dr. Roseman:
Welcome to Dickinson College. Having
just watched the video of your introduction to the larger Dickinson
community, I now have a face and voice to personally know who you
are. Very impressive!
Both my wife (Smith '61) and I
(Dickinson '55) have taught at Dickinson and two books that she
authored on Chinese-Japanese student, teacher and advisor
interactions at the beginning of the 20th century are available in
the Dickinson library. We are long-term supporters of the Flaherty
Lecture series on East Asia at Dickinson.
Again welcome and all the best.

Hello Professor (now President!)
Roseman,
I was scanning through the EphNotes
in my inbox today and I caught your name. I was one of your
senior biology students way back in 1991 or 92--your first year at
Williams, maybe? Yikes! Virology to be precise. I was not
surprised to read today about all of your achievements in Ephland,
as you were by far one of my favorite profs.
Congratulations on your new
position, and I have to say, just because it's a super coincidence,
that Dickinson was my original first choice for undergrad, and even
though I loved my four years at Williams and it was indeed the
right choice for me, I always kept a warm place in my heart for
Dickinson College.
I wish you all the best!
Karen Conroy Tinajero

Dr. Roseman:
Welcome to Dickinson College! As a recent alumnus and former
Student Senate President, I am excited to welcome you to the
Dickinson Family. You have an extremely impressive background and I
am excited to see you lead Dickinson into the future. As I watched
the Live Webcast this afternoon, I was impressed by your vision for
the College, understanding of our community, energy, and sense of
humor! You are correct that you have an excellent product to sell
and I am confident that you will only make that product more
valuable. I commend the Presidential Search Committee for making
such an excellent pick!
When I complete my law school studies in May, I will be
returning to work full time for a law firm in Harrisburg. I look
forward to being an active alumnus and getting to know you
better.
Sincerely,
Lee Tankle, Class of 2010
Student Senate President, 2009-2010

Welcome to the Dickinson family Dr. Roseman!
I'm excited to meet you in person in the near future. I'm a
freshman here at Dickinson (class of 2016) but have considered
myself a member of the Dickinson community since I visited in the
fall of 2010 (aka when I fell in love with the place).
Like I said, can't wait to meet you and I am happy that
Dickinson will serve as your home for the years to come.
All the best,
Clara Fritz '16

I'm very much looking forward to see what your leadership will
bring to our community.
I'm a 2007 alumna, American but living in Paris since
2008. I worked in College Relations as a writer for the
magazine in 2007-2008; you still have the good fortune of having
Lauren Davidson on that team.
Best of luck for what is probably a very stressful time,
Alicia LeBlanc '07

Dear Dr. Roseman,
I send a
warm welcome to you and your spouse, Lori, as you prepare to join the
Dickinson family. My wife, Inge Stafford, Class of '58 and a long time
Trustee, would have been so pleased to see a woman selected as President of
Dickinson. You and Lori have big shoes to fill following Bill and Elke. I urge
you to use all available time to learn about the school. My warmest and best
wishes.

Dear Nancy,
Upon reading the
letter from Dickinson sent out to alumni about your presidency, I was thrilled
to read about your background with Williams. My daughter is now a junior at
Dickinson, and is having a wonderful, fulfilling experience majoring in
Environmental Science. I graduated from Dickinson (1976) and have always been
proud to call it my alma mater. However, now we have an even richer
connection. My husband attended Williams (1977) and another daughter also went
to Williams (2008). She attended the Williams Oxford Program and gained so
much from that experience. I am very sorry to see President Durden leave. He
has been so instrumental in bringing Dickinson's qualities to the forefront of
higher education. But I am so happy to welcome you, especially because of my
warm feelings for Williams. My daughter assured me that you would be an
excellent president and we are lucky to have you at Dickinson. Best of luck
with this transition, and welcome to Dickinson! You might miss those beautiful
mountains, but you are coming to a place that is just as magical!
Best
wishes,
Jane Rogers McIver '76

Dear Nancy,
Congratulations!! As a Trustee, Alum, and
Dickinson-devotee, I am so thrilled to have you join our community. You'll
find that Dickinson is a special place, like Williams, and we are ready to
start a new chapter of legacy under your leadership. I look forward to getting
