Crime Alert - Shots Fired Off Campus - Request for Information

Sent on 1/7/2012 at 2:28 a.m. through Red Alert

 

A short time ago several gunshots were fired off campus on Pitt Street near West Louther. Carlisle Police are looking for a black or green Ford Explorer which may be involved. Call 911 or DPS if you have information.

Crime Alert - Burglary- Request for Information - 9/29/2012 

 

 

Public Safety is investigating a burglary which occurred on Cherry Street, and they need your help. This afternoon a student reported their residence on Cherry Street was burglarized. The incident occurred sometime after midnight in the early morning hours, but wasn't discovered until this afternoon. Nothing was taken from the residence and there is no suspect information available.

Crime Alert - Burglary - sent through Red Alert - 8/25/2012 at 0351 hours

A short time ago an unidentified man attempted to break in to a residence in the first block of South West Street. He fled when confronted by a student. Police are looking for a white male, 40 to 50 years old, very short dark hair with some gray, wearing a blue t shirt and cut off jeans. Call Public Safety or Carlisle Police if you have any information.

 

Crime Alert - Off Campus Shooting - 6/28/2012  

Carlisle Police are investigating an incident and need your help. Earlier today a shooting occurred in the 100 block of A Street. Carlisle Police are looking for a suspect who is described as a teenage black male, wearing a red sports jersey with a white "3" and a red baseball type hat. The suspect was last seen heading north away from campus. If you have any information which could aid in this investigation, call 911 or contact Carlisle Police at 243-5252.

Update - 6/29/2012

Carlisle Police have arrested a suspect in the case of the June 28th shooting of a borough resident on A Street. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any further information on this case please contact Carlisle Police Department at 717-243-5252.

 Crime Alert - Off Campus Shooting - Sent by Red Alert on 11/11/2011 at 0145 hours

Carlisle Police are investigating a report of gunshots fired downtown in the area of 25 West High Street. Please exercise caution. Call 911 if you have any information.

 

Update - Sent on 11/11/2011 at 0201 hours

Carlisle Police responded to a report of shots fired downtown near 25 West High Street at approximately 1:30 a.m.  Information regarding a suspect was just received - Police looking for a black male, 6"0" tall, wearing a blue jacket with red letters, last seen fleeing towards East High Street away from campus. No one reported injured. Additional information will be distributed by e-mail as received. Call 911 if you have any information.

Update - Sent on 11/11/2011 at 0955 hours

Carlisle Police are distributing the following information regarding the incident which occurred early this morning.

Someone fired shots in downtown Carlisle early this morning, damaging a car parked nearby, according to Carlisle police. Police said several witnesses reported seeing two men arguing in the first block of West High Street around 1:30 a.m. One of the men fired a weapon at the other before they both ran off in different directions, police said.

The surveillance camera system set up in the downtown area shows one man running north from West High Street while the other man can be seen running south on Courthouse and then going South on Hanover, according to police.

Officers found several shell casings and a damaged vehicle in the area.

The vehicle was parked in the first block of West High Street when it was hit by a bullet, police said. No one was injured in the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 243-5252.

 

 Request for Information - Theft of United Way Collection Container - 11/3/2011

On Tuesday November 1, 2011, during regular business hours, a collection container for the United Way was stolen from the Quarry. The white plastic container, marked with a United Way decal, was removed from the counter near the cash register. This container held donations made to the United Way annual fund drive by members of the college community. Anyone who may have information regarding this theft should contact DPS Officer Steve Armstrong at 245-1349 or armstrst@dickinson.edu.

 

Timely Warning - Burglary - Sent through Red Alert on 10/25/2011 at 9:10 p.m.

 

Public Safety is looking for a subject who attempted to break in to an office in the HUB a short time ago. The subject is 25 to 30, black male, stocky build, bald, and was wearing a green sweatshirt and dark pants. Last seen leaving the HUB to West Louther. Call Public Safety of CPD if you have information.

 Crime Alert – Attempted Burglary – 10/8/2011 

 

Just before 4:00 a.m. students reported unknown persons removed the window screens and opened 2 windows from the outside in Longsdorff. More than 1 male voice was heard, but no description is available. No entry was gained. Always keep your doors and windows locked. Call Public Safety if you have information regarding this incident.   

 Update - Crime Alert – 9/24/2011 –Altercation/Fight – Subject Apprehended   

 On 9/30/2011, the student involved in this altercation was identified and apprehended. He has been removed from campus and charges are pending.    

 Crime Alert – 9/24/2011 – 2243 hours Altercation/Fight 

 A short time ago DPS responded to a report of a fight in the 400 block of West Louther Street. A witness reported one of the men involved had a knife, and he fled before police arrived. No one was injured. The person who fled is a white male, 18 to 22 years old, wearing a red T shirt and camo shorts. Call DPS if you have any information about this incident.  

Update – Crime Alert May 17, 2011– Suspect Apprehended

The subject pictured and described in the earlier e-mails and Red Alert from Public Safety has been apprehended and is in custody. For the community’s information, the subject is not a student but is a local college aged resident who is an acquaintance of a number of students. 

Many members of the Dickinson community came forward with information after viewing the photograph in the Crime Alert, and the information YOU provided led to his apprehension. Thank you to all in the community who provided assistance.

  Crime Alert - Attempted Sexual Assualt Adams Hall - 05/17/2011

Public Safety is investigating an attempted sexual assault which occurred on campus early this morning. A student reported an unknown male attempted to sexually assault her in Adams Hall. The suspect is described as a white male, 21-22, 5’11”, muscular build, with medium to longer length hair, possibly blond. He is clean shaven. 

Police conducted an extensive search in the area, but have not located the suspect at this time. Information regarding this assault was also distributed to students through Red Alert, and is posted on the monitor in the HUB. This is an active investigation, and the police need your assistance. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Public Safety at 245-1349 .

  Update - Crime Alert issued on 4/16/2011   

 A composite drawing of the suspect reportedly involved in the assault in KW which was reported to the community on 4/16/2011 (text below)has been completed by Carlisle Police at the request of Public Safety. The composite may be viewed at Composite drawing of suspect. An updated description of the suspect has also been provided. The suspect is described as a white male, 15-25, 6’1”, 175-200 lbs., brown eyes, medium build, with medium length brown hair. It is unknown if this individual is a student.

  Crime Alert - Assault In KW -  Request for Information - 4/16/2011

Public Safety is investigating a report of a physical assault, including non-consensual sexual contact, on campus. Today, a student reported she was assaulted in KW on Friday by an unknown male. The suspect is described as a white male, 18-21, 6’1”, 180 lbs., with medium length brown hair. The suspect confronted the victim in a hallway, pushed her into her room, made non-consensual sexual contact and threatening comments.   

Information regarding this assault was also distributed to students through Red Alert.

  Altercation - Request for Information - 3/27/2011

Police are looking for a subject who had an altercation with students. Last seen in a white 4 door sedan, P.A. tag HLS1197 driven by a black female, with a tall thin black male passenger wearing a beaded necklace. Passenger had a verbal altercation with students and may have been in possession of a knife. Last seen driving away from campus on South West Street. Call CPD at 243-5252 if you have information.


    Crime Alert - Public Lewdness - Request for Information - 2/28/2011  

Carlisle Police and Public Safety are investigating an incident involving a suspicious person which occurred in the 200 block of West Louther Street, and they need your help. After 9:00 p.m. this evening, a student reported being approached by an unidentified man, who was only partially clothed. The man exposed himself to the student and then left the area on foot on West Louther Street. This incident occurred on the sidewalk near the Stern Center. 

The suspect is described as an obese white male in his late 20's to early 30's, 5'10" to 6' tall. He was unshaven and was wearing a dark colored beanie type hat and a gray sweat shirt.

    Crime Alert - Vandalism - Request For Information - 2/26/2011   

Public Safety is investigating an incident of vandalism which occured in the Mooreland parking lot, and they need your help.

Between 9:00 p.m. last night and noon today a vehicle was vandalized while it was parked in the Mooreland parking lot.

   Crime Alert - Suspicious Incident -  Resolved - 2/19/2011  

Dickinson College is pleased to advise you that we have identified the driver and van involved in the incident brought to your attention yesterday and the situation has been addressed.   The man involved is not believed to have posed an actual threat to Dickinson College.    Thank you to all in the college community who provided information which aided in the identification of the driver. 

 

   Community Alert - 2/02/2011    

Earlier this morning, a fire occurred in a privately owned property rented by several Dickinson students. I wanted to bring this to your attention to assure you, as you may hear word of this fire, that our students are safe and accounted for.
