Dickinson kicked off the international Bow Tie Tour in style Sept. 15 with a nautical gala on a 70-foot schooner. The kickoff set a festive tone for the tour, which brings alumni and friends together to celebrate Dickinson's momentum and wish President William G. Durden '71 well as he embarks on his final year as the college's president.

Speaking at the post-sail reception, Brian Kamoie '93 remarked that the college owes a debt of gratitude to the president for his 14 years of service. He expressed special thanks to Durden for deepening the community's understanding of what it means to be a Dickinsonian.

"The fact of the matter is that we have a bold identity," Kamoie told Durden. "We know our history. And we have you to thank."
