President Durden alters check-in and Convocation plans to help keep students safe

Although Carlisle is not expected to be in the direct path of Hurricane Irene, the town may see heavy rain on Sunday. And some students may hail from, or travel through, more directly affected regions on their way back to Dickinson.
Because of this, Dickinson has altered plans for check-in and Convocation. Students will now be able to check in early, before the rain is expected to reach the Carlisle/Harrisburg region. Convocation will be held in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium (view an interactive map of the campus). Sign-in plans are contingent on the weather.
Details about these changes are outlined in President Durden's announcements to the campus community.
The college will continue to monitor the storm and will alert members of the campus community, and the media, if further changes are required. Updated 8/26, 1:26 p.m.
