The Campaign

First in America Quick Facts

Goal: $150 million

Time Frame: Seven years beginning July 2004 and ending June 2011

Priorities: Though gifts of any kind benefit the First in America campaign, the $150 million goal is focused on four key priorities: endowed scholarships, endowed faculty chairs, a signature 21st century interdisciplinary science complex and 60 percent growth in the Annual Fund. More information.

Ways to Give: Contributions to the Annual Fund, reunion gifts and the Parents Fund support the First in America campaign, as do endowments, named gifts and planned gifts. More information.

The Annual Fund: A key source of investment and operation capital, the Dickinson College Annual Fund is central to the First in America campaign. Because Annual Fund growth is a campaign priority, both restricted and unrestricted gifts of any size to the fund provide vital support for the First in America campaign and have an immediate impact on the college. More information.

Reunion Gifts: A reunion year offers an excellent opportunity to participate in the First in America campaign. Gifts made during a reunion support both your class gift total and the campaign.

Volunteer Leadership: The First in America campaign co-chairs are George K. and Jennifer Ward Reynolds ’77. They work with the college’s development team and the board of trustees’ campaign steering committee to shape gift policies, campaign priorities and goals. Regional cabinets of more than 70 alumni volunteers in Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, New York and Washington, D.C., help encourage campaign participation through events and personal visits. Additionally, more than a dozen parent, faculty and staff volunteers help steer the First in America campaign through the Parents Fund committee and the campus campaign committee.More information.
