If you are thinking about working on campus during your enrollment at Dickinson College, you will find the following information useful.

Finding a Job

To find a job on campus please visit the Student Employment Web site.

New Process for Student Employment Paperwork

Effective immediately all student employment paperwork should be forwarded to the Student Employment Office in the Biddle House.

Student employment paperwork includes all new hire forms that are necessary for students who work on campus. This includes all forms that were previously sent to Student Payroll.  They are:

1. Payroll Contract

2. W4 form

3. Form I-9

4. Carlisle Certificate of Residence Form

5. Direct Deposit Form (this form should include a voided check)

These forms are available at the following web address:

http://www.dickinson.edu/career/seo/paperwork.html

In order for students to be paid for a specific pay period, all completed paperwork must be received by the Student Employment office no later than 3:00 p.m. on the Tuesday two weeks prior to a scheduled Pay Date. A payroll schedule is available online. Deadline dates for completed paperwork have been included in the Payroll Schedule.

Pay Advice Information

For students who choose to have pay directly deposited to their bank accounts a pay advice will be emailed to the student on paydays. The advice will contain payroll and deposit information. Upon receiving the first pay, it is advisable to check the accuracy of the address so that corrections can be made immediately if necessary. A "gross" amount of earnings appears on the left side of the advice, and a "net" amount on the right. This net amount represents the amount that has been deposited to the bank account. The right side of the advice also indicates taxes that have been withheld and year-to-date amounts. Students can expect to have state and local tax withheld and possibly federal tax, depending on the way the W-4 form was completed. Social security taxes (FICA and MEDI) are not normally withheld, since full-time students are exempted from this tax. The local EMST tax of $52.00 is required per calendar year.
