Networking Day

Call for Abstracts: 22nd Annual Student Research Symposium

 The 22nd Annual Sigma Xi Student Research Symposium will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Undergraduate and Graduate students in the areas of math, computer science, engineering, natural and the social sciences are invited to present their research in poster form during one of two sessions that evening.  Previous symposia have featured students from colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and New York, with some coming from as far away as Minnesota, Texas, and Oklahoma. 

This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Robert Devaney from the Department of Mathematics at Boston University.  His talk is entitled "Chaos Games and Fractal Images" and will be given at 5:00 pm in the Wolfington Teletorium of Mandeville Hall on the Saint Joseph's University campus.  This talk is free and open to the public. 

The registration fee for the symposium is $30 for students and $45 for faculty members.  The optional dinner at Saint Joseph's is an additional $15 for both students and faculty.  Registration and abstracts are due by Friday March 18th, 2011.  For more information including online registration for the symposium, please visit http://www.sju.edu/srs

Undergraduate research conference - call for submissions

The application deadline for the 2011 UCLA Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference. PURC will be on Friday, May 6th, 2011 at UCLA and will showcase approximately 100 undergraduate psychology research projects in poster and paper talk sessions. Students must submit the application and fees online by Friday, February 25th, 2011.
