Dickinson College is proud to offer an array of financial options for international students:
- grants and scholarships (gift money which need not be repaid)
- low-interest loans (which must be repaid)
- work-study opportunities (students earn money by working on campus to contribute to their expenses, such as books and personal needs).
Dickinson College is need-aware in the admission of international students and applicants’ ability to provide funding for their Dickinson education is considered in our admission decisions.
International Certification of Finances
This form must be completed by all international applicants whether they are applying for financial aid.
Merit Scholarships
International students are eligible for Dickinson’s merit scholarships. There is no separate application to be considered for Dickinson's merit scholarships (except the Presidential Scholarship). Your admission application qualifies you for scholarship consideration based on academic performance, strength of high-school curriculum, and demonstrated leadership in school and community activities.
Need-based Financial Aid
- Please be aware that the amount of available need-based financial aid is limited, and students will be expected to contribute to their educational expenses.
- Dickinson does not offer financial aid or scholarships to cover 100% of the educational costs.
- Like many U.S. colleges and universities, Dickinson does not provide funding for all costs required to obtain a student visa. At Dickinson, this includes the cost of mandatory health insurance ($2,500), one-time fees of $125, and any travel anticipated above $1,000 per year are not included in determining financial aid for international students. Dickinson financial aid does not provide funding for these items. Students must be able to fund these costs without merit scholarship or need-based financial aid from Dickinson College.
Applying for Need-based Financial Aid
- Applicants must indicate their intention to apply for financial aid on the Common Application.
- Students requesting need-based aid should complete the College Board CSS Profile application. This form must be completed and submitted electronically. This application is available annually on October 1.
- The CSS Profile deadline is the same as the application deadline.
- If there is a difference in expected family contribution between the CSS Profile and Certification of Finances, we will use the expected family contribution and demonstrated financial need determined by the review of the CSS Profile in cases where there is a difference between these amounts and the amount of financial support a student and family provides on the International Certification of Finances.
Admitted students are notified of any merit and/or need-based financial aid award with their offer of admission.
