FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
There is an extra fee for performance studies courses, except MUPS 111 (see the Current Fee Schedule under Other Fees). For all Music majors the half-hour fee is waived, and for all majors with a performance emphasis the full-hour fee is waived, provided the following conditions are met:
1. The student must be a declared Music major.
2. The student must have completed one course in the core music curriculum, AND be pre-registered for a second core course in the music core curriculum.
There is NO REFUND of the extra fee if a student withdraws from the course after the Add/Drop Period.
A certain number of Performance Studies scholarships are available each semester (See link). A student must gain the verbal support of the Performance Studies instructor, and submit a brief letter of application, via e-mail, to the Music Department Director of Performance Studies (Professor Helding helding@dickinson.edu) with copy to the Performance Studies instructor, preferably the semester previous to enrollment.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT ENSEMBLES
Please note: Music audition is required for first-time participants. Contact the appropriate ensemble director for more information.
Music
ensembles do not bear GPA credit, but successful participation in two
or more semesters in one or more ensembles may be registered on
students' final transcripts as "Music Ensemble Participation Fulfilled." To
receive this credit, students must register through Banner (after being
accepted via audition) under the appropriate ensemble rubric (MUEN).
To find Music Department Ensembles using Banner Self-Service, when entering your search criteria, be sure to select Music-Ensemble (MUEN) as the Subject.
