The Dickinson College Music Department boasts fine facilities that are available to music students and faculty alike, all located in the idyllic setting of Dickinson’s historic campus, within two hours’ drive of Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Maps and directions to our campus from a variety of locations are available.
The Department is proud to claim 15 grand pianos (including a newly reconditioned Steinway Concert Grand in the Rubendall Recital Hall), a Bösendorfer grand, and one harpsichord. The Weiss Center alone houses up-to-date digital recording facilities, eight practice rooms, fully equipped lecture halls and seminar rooms, choir and orchestral rehearsal halls, two computer studios with up-to-date MIDI facilities and corresponding software, and a new six-student digital piano laboratory. Small ensembles have dedicated rehearsal space in nearby South College, and Dickinson organists have access to the beautiful 3-rank Möller Opus 9122 Chancel Organ at Allison United Methodist Church, conveniently located on Mooreland Avenue, adjacent to Morgan Hall.
Our students also benefit from a comprehensive collection of scores, books, journals, recordings, and listening stations in the College’s exceptional Waidner-Spahr Library.
