Mathematics

Students majoring in mathematics learn to think analytically, solve a wide range of cross-disciplinary problems, and communicate clearly. These skills provide the foundation for almost any career. In fact, consider the following:

A recent survey from the National Assocation of Colleges and Employers concluded that the top 15 highest-earning college degress all have one thing in common - math skills.
According to the Wall Street, a recent study evaluting 200 professions to determine the best and worst jobs according to five criteria (environment, income, employment outlook, physical demands and stress), concluded that Mathematician was the best job. Morever, the top 3 jobs on the list were:

                  1. Mathematician
                  2. Actuary
                  3. Statistician

Researchers at CareerCast.com determined a list of the least stressful jobs, and actuary, statistician, and mathematician were among the least-stressful.

Computer Science

Students majoring in computer science learn the foundation of the discipline from both a theoretical and practical standpoint, including an array of current technologies such as Java and network programming. Graduates are prepared to immediately enter the computer science profession, or to be competitive in entering graduate school.
