Interdisciplinary Studies & Economics Consistent with a liberal arts philosophy, the Economics Department teaches from both disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. This aspect of our duties places the study of economic phenomena within the larger societal context in which they occur. The Department is currently involved in six interdisciplinary programs: East Asian Studies, Environmental Studies, Health Studies, International Studies, Latin American Studies, Policy Studies and Women's and Gender Studies. In most cases, post-graduate study in the field may be aided by economic study beyond the introductory level.
Teaching certification in social studies is also available through the Education Department
