Striving For Zero Waste Initiative
striving to make Homecoming & Family Weekend and Inauguration a zero-waste
event. Our initiative aims to minimize waste taken to landfills by composting
food and paper waste at our own College Farm and recycling all other waste; the
college will only be providing materials that are compostable or recyclable.
Please help us in our zero waste mission by placing your waste in appropriate
containers and encouraging others to do the same.
Way's to join this
all meals and receptions, participate in sorting materials into provided compost
and recycle receptacles.
- Scan the QR Codes found in the Library Welcome
Center and on schedules around campus to get a full list of events and
information on your smart phone instead of picking up a paper copy.
- Find recycle bins for any programs or brochures you do pick up and use
during the Weekend once you are done with them.
- Bring a reusable water
bottle to campus to fill in any of our many water bottle stations, reducing the
need for disposable cups and bottles.
On Campus Events: We encourage you to participate in this initiative by collecting compost at your events during the weekend. Please contact Lindsey Lyons at email@example.com if you would like to reserve a compost bin for your department.
