  • Emeriti’s new accumulation record keeper, trust services provider, and investment manager will be TIAA-CREF, based in New York, with nearly one century of distinguished service to the non-profit community for financial services supporting retirement income security.   
  • Emeriti’s new disbursement record keeper for Emeriti group insurance administration and Emeriti medical expense reimbursement processing will be Savitz, a Philadelphia company with more than forty years of experience in full-service benefits services supporting employees and retirees in organizations nationwide.      
  • Savitz will perform record keeping services for the 2012 annual insurance open enrollment period, which will begin October 31 and conclude on December 31, 2011.

Flu vaccines will be given to staff with the co-pay waived.  The Wellness Center also has 200 flu vaccines available to students at no charge as long as they participate in the Flu Clinic. 

To Register:  

  • Staff should register through Events Management in CLIQ.   
  •  Students should register through the Students Tab in Banner.  Health Services staff cannot register students by
     phone or e-mail.      
  •  Each time slot has a specific number of appointments available, if you are unable to register for a specific time, then it has been filled and you should choose an alternative time.  You may only register for one appointment time.  
  •  You should click the 2011 Flu Vaccine Clinic Participation Form to complete and bring along with you to your scheduled appointment.   

If you have a problem with the event registration, please contact the LIS Helpdesk rather than Human Resource Services.    

Staff with questions regarding the flu vaccine should contact their health care provider.

]]> 2011-04-26T11:45:04Z Emergency Room (ER) visits will not be covered if the visit is for non-emergent care and has not been authorized by a physician or Primary Care Provider (PCP).  Employees participating in the college's medical insurance with HealthAssurance are reminded that a physician's referral is required for an ER visit to be covered for medical treatment that is not considered an emergency.  If a member wants services over the weekend or late at night, and the PCP is not authorizing a visit to the ER, members may go to an Urgent Care Center.

To locate a participating urgent care center, members may visit the Health America/HealthAssurance website and perform a provider search for their area or county.  Members visiting the website should select the "Plan Members" option and then click on "Locate a Provider" in the left sidebar area, followed by clicking on "Find a Provider" to complete a provider search.  For additional information about Urgent Care Centers, please review the Urgent Care Center brochure.

]]> 2010-11-19T13:30:29Z Beginning January 1, 2011, currently eligible over-the-counter (OTC) products that are medicines or drugs will not be eligible for reimbursement from your Health Care Flexible Spending Account – unless, you have a prescription for that item written by your physician. 

The only exception is insulin – which will not require a prescription from January 1, 2011 forward. Other currently eligible OTC items that are not medicines or drugs, such as bandages, contact lens solution and nasal strips, will not require a prescription. 

Here is a list of drug categories that will require a prescription*:

  • Acid Controllers  
  • Allergy & Sinus  
  • Antibiotic Products  
  • Anti-Diarrheals  
  • Anti-Gas  
  • Anti-Itch & Insect Bite  
  • Antiparasitic Treatments  
  • Baby Rash Ointments/Creams  
  • Cold Sore Remedies  
  • Cough, Cold & Flu  
  • Digestive Aids  
  • Feminine Anti-Fungal/Anti-Itch  
  • Hemorrhoidal Preps  
  • Laxatives  
  • Motion Sickness  
  • Pain Relief  
  • Respiratory Treatments  
  • Sleep Aids & Sedatives  
  • Stomach Remedies  

*This list is subject to change. It is important to note; however, that some OTC supplies, as well as insulin, will remain eligible for reimbursement.
