Help Brighten a Child's Day this Holiday Season!
Every year at this time, Dickinson partners with the United Methodist Home for Children (UMHC) in Mechanicsburg for the "Giving Tree" project. Each child who lives at UMHC has experienced behavior issues or family problems deemed severe enough to keep them from remaining at home and in their community. Each child creates a "wish list" of items they would like to receive during the holidays, and the average cost of each item is about $20 or less. Students, faculty, staff, and guests of Dickinson have the opportunity to fulfill a child's wish. Interested? Here's how it works: 1.) Look for the decorated "Giving Tree" in the HUB on Monday, November 12. 2.) Take an ornament off the tree. Each ornament represents a specific child's wish. 3.) Shop! Please do NOT wrap it - place it unwrapped in a gift bag instead with the original tree ornament attached! 4.) Return the ornament and gift bag with item to the Office of Community Service & Religious Life in the bottom floor of the HUB by 4:30 PM Monday, December 3. and the women of Sigma Lambda Gamma will be decorating the ornaments and tree.
